Emma McWalter

Programme manager, Workwhile

Emma is programme manager at Workwhile, an initiative working with employers to create good work and ensure that everyone can access it.

Emma focusses on delivering tailored support to SMEs, giving advice and guidance on how to incorporate apprenticeships within all types of organisation. Emma also manages training provider and third party relationships, leads on Workwhile’s Knowledge Sharing Network (K²) connecting large employers, providers and SMEs to learn from each other’s experiences, and leads on Workwhile’s digital data collection methods.

Prior to Workwhile, Emma studied History at the University of Exeter. After graduating she started work as an implementation associate at a health-tech start-up and worked her way upwards, within her third year Emma was account manager for some of the largest NHS hospitals and social care organisations in the UK and led on business development in Australia, contracting the business’ first international customer.

At Workwhile she's particularly interested in shifting perspectives of employers and supporting them to help young people and those from disadvantaged backgrounds into good, sustainable work.
